Cardano Foundation Collaborates with SERPRO to Boost Blockchain Implementation in Brazil's Public Sector
Cardano Foundation and SERPRO Join Forces
The Cardano Foundation has formed a significant partnership with the Serviço Federal de Processamento de Dados (SERPRO) to enhance blockchain integration within Brazil’s public sector. This collaboration not only aims to expedite the adoption of blockchain technologies but also emphasizes the importance of digital literacy through the Cardano Academy’s educational programs.
Cardano Foundation Enhances Brazil's Digital Governance
This initiative builds upon Brazil's well-recognized digital governance framework. The World Bank reports that Brazil ranks impressively as the second country worldwide in terms of digital government maturity. Central to this progress is SERPRO, the largest state-owned IT company globally, which plays a vital role in maintaining Brazil’s digital infrastructure.
SERPRO’s Role in Brazil’s Digital Landscape
SERPRO supports about 90% of the federal government’s systems, managing over 750 digital solutions and processing an astounding 33 billion transactions each year. Additionally, the company oversees more than 30.4 petabytes of data across various cloud platforms.
A Focus on Education and Training
This collaboration seeks to leverage SERPRO’s extensive expertise in public administration, combined with Cardano’s innovative blockchain technology. Frederik Gregaard, CEO of the Cardano Foundation, highlighted the groundbreaking nature of this partnership.
“Our collaboration with SERPRO represents a transformative step in modernizing Brazil’s public sector infrastructure through blockchain education and technology,” stated Gregaard.
The overarching goal of this initiative is to improve transparency, accountability, and efficiency in government operations, ultimately benefiting millions of citizens across Brazil.
Cardano Academy's Educational Programs
Education is a crucial element of this partnership. The Cardano Academy plans to offer SERPRO employees a comprehensive training curriculum on blockchain technology. This curriculum will include masterclasses, technical workshops, and certification courses, all designed to deepen participants’ understanding of blockchain applications.
“By combining SERPRO’s extensive public sector expertise with Cardano’s blockchain infrastructure, we’re positioning Brazil at the forefront of digital government transformation,” commented Alexandre Gonçalves de Amorim, President of SERPRO.
It is worth noting that this collaboration marks a first for SERPRO, as they have not previously partnered with an international organization for educational initiatives. However, the Cardano Foundation has engaged in previous collaborations, including one with Brazil’s energy sector in December 2023.
Cardano's Growth in the Global Market
As the Cardano Foundation continues to extend its influence globally, the platform's native token, ADA, has garnered attention due to recent developments in the United States. The token experienced a notable rise after being included in President Trump's proposed crypto reserve.
Market Fluctuations Following Recent Events
Despite its initial gains, the momentum for ADA was short-lived, as subsequent actions by President Trump regarding a strategic Bitcoin reserve led to declines in Bitcoin and other altcoins. At the time of writing, ADA is trading at $0.87, reflecting a 7.52% drop over the previous day.
